
Turning your back on things and people in order to test their loyalty is a ridiculous waste of a gamble. Don't you nearly always lose?

Likewise, friendship, love and
fidelity endure despite behaviour- if we love something- we love it- without expectation- we usually know where the thorns are, hidden or not.

As Wally used to say in "Leave it to Beaver," when
asked by Ward what it was he saw in his friend Eddie Haskell: "Gee, Dad, I know Eddie's a creep, but
some one's gotta be his friend."
